Refuge Church DNA - Part 2: Retreat

Together we recognize our worth in the Lord’s eyes as we walk alongside of each other in joy, in brokenness, and in hurt. We live out the reality that God is our refuge as we provide a safe and accepting place for those who are near to Christ and those who are far away.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Psalm 91:1-2 (NIV)

The word "retreat" can mean many things. It can represent a withdrawal from a fight or a battle. It can connote a break or a getaway from the rigors of daily life.

At Refuge Church, we try and live out that word, "retreat," in a way that emphasizes the safety and security that we find when we rest in Christ. As such, we hope that anyone who comes through the doors of our church building or interacts with us in any way, feels welcomed and sheltered by God's love acting through our hands and feet.

Community is crucial to this dynamic and we strive to do our best to partner with broken, hurting AND joyful people. No matter what you're going through, we pray that you can find rest in the Most High God through His Son, Jesus Christ!

The key to our safety and security that provides us with a place to "retreat" to is our hope in Jesus Christ, who purchased that safety and security by dying in our place for our sins. May that hope pervade all that we do and say and may that hope be an encouragement to you as you find safety and security in the arms of a loving Father, who gave His only Son, Jesus.
